Privacy and cookies

What we collect, why, who else sees it and what you can do about it. Short version: an account needs your email, we do not run analytics, and ads come from Google with your consent.

Who we are

Oddvise (“we”) decides how your data is used. For anything about your data, write to contact@oddvise.com.

What we collect and why

  • If you create an account: your name, email address and a password (we store only a hash of it). We use them to let you sign in, verify your email, reset your password and send the emails and notifications you chose. Legal basis: providing the service you asked for.
  • When you sign in: a session cookie, and the IP address and browser details of the session, to keep you signed in and protect the account. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in security.
  • Emails: a daily email at 10:00 (Lisbon time) with yesterday's results and today's best matches, which you can turn off in your account, plus verification and password-reset emails. We keep a record of what we sent so the same email is never sent twice.
  • Push notifications (Oddvise mobile app only): if you use the app and allow notifications, we store your device's notification token and send alerts through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn them off in your account or in your phone's settings.
  • Server logs: like any website, our servers record the IP address and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting, and keep them only as long as that needs.

You can read the site without an account. We do not run analytics or social-media trackers, and we do not sell your data.

Advertising and cookies

Oddvise shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads and, if you agree, to personalise them. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you are asked for your choice in a consent message, and you can change it at any time through the privacy options in that message or in your browser settings.

The only cookie we set ourselves is the sign-in session cookie. It is strictly necessary for the account to work, so it does not need consent.

Who receives your data

  • Our hosting and email providers, who handle data for us under contract.
  • Google, for ads (AdSense) and, in the app, for push notifications (Firebase). Google may process data outside the European Union, relying on safeguards the law allows, such as standard contractual clauses.

We do not give your account details to advertisers.

How long we keep it

Your account data stays until you delete your account. Sessions end when they expire. The record of emails and notifications sent is deleted with your account. Server logs are kept only as long as security and troubleshooting need them.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account yourself on the account page, which removes your profile, sessions, preferences, devices and notification record. For anything else write to contact@oddvise.com; we answer without undue delay and within one month.

You can also complain to the data-protection authority of your country. In Portugal it is the CNPD.

Age

Oddvise is for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters to you, we update the date at the top and, if you have an account, tell you by email.
