Responsible gambling

Betting should be entertainment, never a way to make money or to solve money problems. Our tips are estimates, not guarantees.

Keep it under control

  • You must be 18 or older. Betting is not for minors.
  • Only bet money you can afford to lose, and decide the amount before you start.
  • Set deposit and time limits with your operator, and stick to them.
  • Never chase losses. After a loss, stop.
  • Do not bet when you are upset, tired or have been drinking.
  • Only use operators licensed in your country. In Portugal, the regulator is the SRIJ.
  • Our stakes are in units, never in money. A unit is 1% of a bankroll you chose, and we never suggest more than 1u.

Signs of a problem

  • You bet more than you planned, or for longer than you planned.
  • You borrow money or sell things to bet.
  • You hide your betting from the people close to you.
  • You think about betting all the time, or feel irritable when you cannot.
  • You bet to win back what you lost.

If one of these sounds like you, take a break now and talk to someone you trust.

Get help

Licensed operators offer deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion. In Portugal, the SRIJ publishes how to self-exclude and where to find support. Outside Portugal, look for your national gambling regulator or a free helpline in your country.

Our part

We never promise profit, we publish every tip, good or bad, before kickoff, and we show our losses next to our wins. If you think something here pushes people to bet more than they should, tell us at contact@oddvise.com.
